Seiko needed more than a marketing film — they needed a story that could capture the imaginations of high-end watch collectors around the world. Directed by Paula Chowles, this short documentary set out to do just that. Rather than focusing solely on Japanese craftsmanship, it explores a deeper, more universal idea: that life’s greatest luxury is time itself.
Renowned Japanese artists, including photographer Hiroshi Sugimoto and architect Kengo Kuma, lead viewers on a journey of discovery, sharing how traditional Japanese practices help them slow down, be present, and make peace with time. With Scott Dadich as Executive Producer, we developed a concept that tapped into the universal feeling of never having enough time for what truly matters — creating an emotional storytelling experience designed to resonate across cultures and continents.
In partnership with Hakuhodo Inc., who led client engagement and collaboration with Seiko, we brought this vision to life with a clear strategy and shared passion.
Premiering in both Tokyo and New York City, the film drew a powerful response. Audiences expressed deep gratitude for a thought-provoking and emotionally resonant experience — a response that underscored the film’s success in striking a rare and delicate balance between brand, philosophy, and emotion.
