Okta came to us with an unconventional ask: to open their 2021 annual conference, Oktane, not with a product keynote but with a feature documentary. They wanted to do something different. Something human.
Directed by Julia Reagan, this is a story of resilience, responsibility, and the people behind the product that helped hold things together. As the world went remote overnight, Okta became the invisible infrastructure that kept millions connected—securely and seamlessly.
The film weaves together the personal stories of Okta employees navigating a year of crisis—from the COVID-19 pandemic to devastating wildfires to the reckoning of the Black Lives Matter movement—all while building the technology that kept businesses running, families together, and essential services online.
